1. We don't till our soil. Tilling destabilizes the ground, increases erosion, and disrupts the layering of organic matter. If we seed, we spread it manually and let God do the rest. Just add water.
2. We don't use herbicides. We wouldn't eat it, so we don't think livestock should either.
3. We have soil analysis tests performed annually. We fertilize our fields as needed with natural pellet fertilizers sourced locally.
4. Our hay consists of a mixture of orchard grass (70%), varied natural grass (15%), legumes and fescue (10%), and some timothy (5%). This amounts to excellent horse hay that is nutrient dense, a great source of fiber, and ample protein. After cutting, the hay is baled once its moisture content is below 18%.
5. We square bale our hay twice a year and provide customers with a discount if they load hay themselves out of the field. If you'd like to be on that email list, click the button below.
6. Pricing: Hay prices fluctuate annually based upon fertilizer need and hay equipment operation costs. Our pricing tends to be market average.
7. Availability: First come, first served. When it's gone, it's gone.
